Snow Shoe Family Dentistry (SSFD) opened its doors on May 7th 2011. Dr. Nathan Pecht and his wife Leah had been living in Snow Shoe for one year when the opportunity arose to take over the local dental practice. Over the last eight years the practice has steadily grown and become something that we are truly proud of and grateful for! We appreciate the support of our community, friends and family and feel that we are right where God would want us.
On April 9th, 2018 SSFD moved into its new home, a beautifully restored historic Presbyterian Church in the center of the town. The remodeling was done nearly entirely by Dr. Nathan Pecht, his wife Leah, and his father Dr. Karl Pecht. It was a long four year process but the result was worth the work and wait! SSFD has at its core the desire to provide high quality dentistry at an affordable price. As such we offer a self pay discount of between 10-30% depending on the service provided. We also accept all dental insurances and participate with most. The list of insurances we participate with are: United Concordia, Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Aetna, Lincoln Financial, Capital Blue Cross, Blue Cross Dental, Guardian, Geisinger Gold, Geisinger Health Plan (GHP), United Healthcare, Amerihealth, Aetna Better Health, UPMC for you, Humana, Tri-Care Dental, Renaissance, Aetna Coventry, Dentemax, Fidelio and more. If you didn't see your plan listed above, check with your insurance to see if we are in network as well.

OUR SERVICES
Routine Exams
Exams are important for determining the health of your teeth, gums, and bone. Cavities, gingivitis, periodontal disease, and even oral cancers can be detected early with regular exams/radiographs. Early detection is key and leads to a much more favorable outcome.
Dental Hygiene
This will include a thorough cleaning of your teeth by the removal of plaque and tartar and polishing with prophy paste. Children under seventeen can receive fluoride treatment.
Extractions
While many offices will refer out their extractions, this is not the case with us. Dr. Pecht has developed a tremendous reputation for extractions, both simple and surgical. Whether it is just one tooth or full mouth extractions, we cannot list the number of times a patient has been pleasantly surprised with how quickly and painlessly Dr. Pecht removed their tooth/teeth.
Root Canals
As with extractions, our office prides itself in our ability to keep most procedures in house. At a time where many general dental offices are referring out their root canal procedures, we are able and willing to do most in office. We have found that our patients really appreciate this.
White Dental Fillings
In our practice, teeth with cavities are restored using tooth colored (white) light cured composite filling material. Sometimes teeth that are broken/chipped are also restored with composite as a cheaper alternative to a dental crown/veneer.
Emergency Dentistry
We work very hard to fit in any emergency patient that calls during the day, or walks in. While we may not be able to completely finish treatment that day we will always try to relieve the pain and reschedule asap to finish treatment.
Dentures, crowns & Veneers
Our office partners with industry leading U.S. dental labs to fabricate beautiful dentures (partial and full), highly aesthetic crowns/bridges (caps), implant crowns, and veneers.
Teeth Whitening
We partner with one of the most well known whitening companies in the U.S., opalescence, to provide whiter smiles.
